The development of Hawthorne Valley Shopping Center presented numerous challenges, including the opportunity to coordinate closely with the Ohio Department of Transportation due to the proximity of the property to Interstates 271 and 480. The activities of former owners of the property made it necessary to properly address environmental conditions which affected portions of the site. These unusual conditions, along with First Interstate's goal of properly buffering our activities from adjacent residential neighbors, made for a particularly challenging first development for First Interstate.
